Next generation of Rock Maple being planted into rows. These trees were dug in our swampy area of the farm and transplanted to the new sugarbush.

In about 20-25 years Gideon will be tapping these trees!

Maple evaporator hood install: Found this used 10’ hood, with 18” stack for our evaporator. The hood is twice the size of our current evaporator but this will allow an upgrade to a bigger evaporator in the future without having to upgrade the hood. The install was pretty straight forward, hung the hood from chains to center it over the evaporator and align it with the exit location for the stack to go through the roof. Cut the roof hole, boxed in around the stack exit, dropped in the stack from the top of the roof, and braced the stack with braided metal wire. Sealed the roof.
